"2012" Destroys Los Angeles, Again

2012 was, at its core, a film about science.  If the handsome, socially adept, and surprisingly single scientist had not discovered the Nuetrino thingies that were heating the earths core they never would have had time to build the giant arks.  Not surprisingly this modern day Noah did not impart on the audience much in the way of scientific knowledge.  That task was left to his co-stars, who inadvertently demonstrated some previously unknown laws of motion.  MATM has the physics breakdown.

2012  follows the standard disaster template: family, humanity, try to survive horrible catastrophe.  Protagonists make harrowing escapes on multiple occasions.  Single, sexy, lead scientist get together with other single, sexy, acquaintance.  Hollow words and endless cliches put a positive spin on the billions who died.  Yes, 2012 was an endless parade of disaster movie cliches and unimaginative plot elements.  Except, growing out of the rubble, were a few flowers, twists that you never would have guessed.  MATM quantifies the surprises.
