"Avatar" in 2D

With over a billion dollars in box office revenue worldwide Avatar aims to be one of the biggest box office hits of all time. Producers all over the country are asking, what made Avatar so successful? Explosions and CGI have always drawn in the masses, but what did Avatar do so well that it brought in everyone and their brother? Many people are thinking it was the 3D experience. MATM sat down with the glasses and has this to report.

From the opening scene, when a dump truck rolled by with arrow studded tires, it was clear that a duel was brewing. We knew right then that it would be a nature vs technology kind of battle, and that somehow technology would lose. The next two hours were spent as sort of a justification, setting the stage for the defeat of man and his machines. How can arrows and beasts trump guns and spaceships? Poor decisions by humanity, decisions that just happened to make for interesting cinema. MATM illustrates the correct way to deal with natives.
